Registered Social Worker
I’m a queer Brazilian therapist who grew up in a place and time when being anything other than straight and gender-conforming was often met with discomfort or disapproval. As a child, I was often confused by how adults reacted to me—not “feminine enough”—and those early experiences of being misunderstood deeply shaped the lens through which I practice therapy today.
As a neurodivergent person who wasn’t diagnosed until adulthood, I’ve always carried a strong sense of justice. That passion led me to pursue a career in Law. I ran my own legal practice in Brazil before transitioning to public sector work, where I managed social projects to increase access to education and clean water in underserved municipalities across Minas Gerais. These experiences sparked a deep interest in social work and the healing potential of community and human connection.
After relocating to Canada, I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Western University and began working as a therapist. I have extensive experience supporting clients in their healing journeys, with a primary focus on neurodivergent and queer youth, while also working with adults of all ages and walks of life. I offer services in both English and Portuguese.
I work from a client-centered, relational, and trauma-informed lens, rooted in the belief that therapy is a collaborative process, and should strive to be as non-hierarchical as possible. I bring in tools and insights from mindfulness-based therapist, attachment-based therapist, and psychodynamic psychotherapy to help clients explore their inner world and develop deeper self-awareness.
Having grown up in a collectivist culture, I value the strength of community and connection. My goal is to co-create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, heard, and respected—especially if you've ever been made to feel “othered” or unseen in your life.
I also understand that traditional face-to-face therapy can feel intimidating or simply not be the right fit for everyone. Because of this, I’m open to more flexible and creative approaches: we might go for a walk together, meet at a nearby café, or even play a card game while we talk. My clients are always encouraged to suggest changes to the format or environment, and together we can create a space that feels comfortable, grounding, and conducive to honest reflection and healing.
To align my personal and professional values, I offer sliding-scale services to clients on an as needed basis. Sliding-scale options are also available for members of the queer, trans, disabled, sex worker, BIPOC communities, as well as newcomers to Canada. I believe that healing should be accessible to all.
